UTV Spotboy’s latest marketing gimmick is grabbing eyeballs for

 their non starry movie Filmistaan

Katrina KaifDharmendra and Sunny Deol were recently worshiped like gods by the lead actors of UTV Spotboy’s upcoming film Filmistaan. They had promised that they won’t stop and will continue to make aarti songs for other actors as well. The latest to be a part of the film’s promotional activities is Salman Khan. Filmistaan makers are taking their promotional tactics to a completely new level. By bringing in various big celebs into the film, UTV Spotboy is trying to grab as many eyeballs as possible for Nitin Kakkar’s award winning film. Even if these celebs are not in the film, they definitely are present in their marketing strategies. So what is this promotional activity all about? Read on to find out…
As promised the makers are out with a Salman Khan aarti video. The creative team of the film have taken Salman’s  hit films and dialogues and clubbed them together for a hilarious experience. The video shows the lead actors of the film performing a prayer for their favourite god—Salman Khan! Sharib Hashmi and Inaamulhaq, the lead actors of the film, are shown as die hard fans of the Jai Ho star in this film and as a tribute to them, they compose and perform a bhajan/aarti in their honour. It must be flattering for the Dabangg Khan, considering his demigod like stature among Indians.
The makers say that the aarti songs have been shot purely for promotional purposes are is not meant to harm sentiments of any community. Also, it will just be aired on TV ahead of the film’s release and will not be a part of the film. “The idea is the brainchild of the creative team of UTV Spotboy. They are the producers of my film and know best how to market it. In India as well as Pakistan, Hindi cinema rules our lives and that is what the film’s story has tried to show. The idea of the video is to create audience curiosity around those lines,” Kakkar had informed while speaking to a leading daily. The aartis are laden with funny lyrics which will leave you ROFL. The makers plan to release many more such promotional videos before their film’s release on June 6.

Filmistaan has been screened at various film festivals across the globe and has won quite a few awards. Now only time will tell as to whether such cool marketing strategies work in favour of the film or draw some controversies towards it. For now, go ahead BollywoodLifers, watch the video and start chanting the Salman Khan aarti!

Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Hrithik Roshan: 3 people Shahrukh Khan should befriend!

Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Hrithik Roshan: 3 people Shahrukh Khan should befriend!

King Khan is the second richest celeb in the world which is indeed commendable however, when it comes to having friends the actor isn’t that lucky anymore. But just like SRK is back to being buddies with Farah Khan, wethinks he should mend fences with few more of his once-upon-a-time pals

In 2012, Shahrukh Khan had a fallout with his close friend-cum- filmmaker Farah Khan after the former apparently slapped the latter’s husband at Sanjay Dutt’s party. The duo patched up soon and their friendship has cemented since then. In fact, SRK is playing the lead in Farah’s next directorial venture Happy New Year co-starring Deepika Padukone. Also, it seems their dosti has never been better. We say so coz the Om Shanti Om director today wrote on Twitter, “With the Forbes 2nd richest actor in the world!!@iamsrk u were rich even when u didn’t hav money”. Awww that’s sweet na? Well, if Gauri Khan’s hubby dearest can befriend Farah Khan again then he should surely extend the olive branch towards Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Karan Johar too. After all, at one point the Chennai Express star was close to all of them. And when you work in a small place like Bollywood, it’s always better to have more friends than enemies, right peeps?
We all know SRK and Sallu have patched up numerous times but that’s just for the cameras. If the two warring Khans bury the hatchet once and for all, it would be so much better for all of us. We wouldn’t have to connect the dots of each and every story that would involve these two arch rivals, hai na? Coming to KJo, the filmmaker and his superstar friend have been sharing cold vibes for the longest time now. That’s one reason why we didn’t get to see the witty Shahrukh Khan onKoffee with Karan this season. Many believe Johar’s sudden closeness to Sallu miyaan is the reason behind Karan-Shahrukh dosti going kaput. In that case, if the HNY actor befriends Salman everything will fall into place automatically, no?
As for Duggu, from sharing screen space to partying together to spilling the beans on Koffee with Karan, the onscreen superhero has done it all with SRK in the past. Sadly their dostana hasn’t been the same post Chennai Express and Krrish 3 released last year. AbRam’s daddy dearest even said in an interview, “After Chennai Express, I’ve made new enemies.” But it’s time these two actors should sort things out and get back to being buddies. Coz professional life shouldn’t affect your personal one. Plus, if all is well between Salman, Shahrukh and Hrithik, we could see them together in a larger than life film directed by none other than Karan Johar. Now that would be nothing less than a cinematic treat, agreed Bollywoodlifers?

6 ways Salman Khan being jailed is a bitter sweet deal for Bollywood...

With everything going wrong for Salman Khan with his latest case hearings from people identifying him in court to waiters stating that Salman Khan and his group of friends were sloshed the night that he drove drunk in South Mumbai leading to loss of life and grave injuries to people sleeping on the footpath. There seems no clear path for the actor to stay clear of conviction.
It may make his competitors happy, although they will not own up to this emotion but there are many people who stand to lose out if Salman Khan gets jailed for any time frame up to 10 years.
  1. Salman Khan will miss Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor’s imminent wedding.
  2. Salman Khan’s conviction will postpone sister, Arpita Khan’s wedding by a decade.
  3. Salman Khan missing from action for 10 years will lead to the downfall of the Khan trio popularity leading to the rise of Kapoor’s mainly Arjun, Ranbir, Ranveer and probably even Shahid.
  4. Salman Khan is the one superstar who promotes new talent. With him out, who can take the charge?
  5. Salman Khan’s diminished omnipresence will allow Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to be free to do more movies.
  6. Salman Khan claimed that he is a virgin and if he stays a virgin for another 10 years during his jail time then he may never be able to lose it when he gets out at the age of 58.

Two more witnesses were cross-examined by a Mumbai sessions court in the 2002 Salman Khan hit-and-run case on Tuesday. The court has scheduled the next hearing for June 23, where 10 more witnesses will be questioned.
Unconfirmed reports say the hearing could be extended to June 24 or 25, according to Khan's lawyer. The lawyer has also filed a complaint against the TV news channel CNN-IBN for allegedly broadcasting wrong information regarding the 12-year-old case. On Monday, the channel was said to have broadcast news that a fourth witness had identified Khan.
So far, four witnesses have confirmed that Khan was in the car on the night of the accident, with one claiming Khan was in the driver's seat on the night of September 28, 2002, when his car (an SUV) ran over a group of people sleeping on a pavement in Bandra, killing one and injuring four others.
Khan, who has faced a number of court trials in the past 12 years, now stands accused of culpable homicide not amounting to murder, which could earn him a 10-year prison sentence if he is convicted.

Shahrukh Khan's loss is Salman Khan's gain. The Jai Ho star has apparently signed on for director/ producer Karan Johar's next magnum opus titled Shuddhi. Reportedly, Johar was in talks with SRK as well, for the film.
Salman Khan is Johar's new hero, reports Bollywood Life. The film has been facing casting issues ever since its first lead actors Kareena Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan opted out. For months now, Johar has been trying to find the right lead actor for this film which is to be directed by Karan Malhotra (Agneepath).
According to the report, there have been hush-hush talks of how SRK would step into Roshan's shoes as the hero in Johar's delayed venture for quite some time.
But reportedly, Khan's no show on Koffee With Karan had caused a divide between the two friends and hence, his chances of signing the film looked slim.
Other A-list stars like Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were also approached to play the lead role. Sadly, things did not materialise.
Kapoor has a busy year ahead with a number of films in-production including Imtiaz Ali's film opposite ex-girlfriend Deepika Padukone, Jagga Jasoos with Katrina Kaif and Anurag Kashyap's Bombay Velvet.
Apart from that, rumours suggest that the Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani star will also be working on a Sanjay Dutt biopic to be directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
Ranveer Singh, on the other hand, chose to romance his alleged 'current flame' Padukone in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next - Bajirao Mastani.
Looks like the famous and successful pairing of Karan Johar and Shahrukh Khan Might just take a massive hit.

Wanted: Salman Khan in 2018!

A filmmaker is waiting for the actor to grow older so he can cast him in his movie
Shailendra Singh, the entertainment baron and producer is all set for a comeback after a voluntary two-year break. "I wanted to distance myself from the industry after producing 72 films, many of which some have been extremely influential in moulding public tastes (if I say so). I wanted to assess the process of movie making vis-à-vis my own preoccupations as a movie producers," he admits
It is learnt that he has signed a slew of directors in the age bracket of 25-28 years. Shailendra says his latest innings as a film producer will reflect his observations on the changing scenario of Indian cinema. "Though the Khans are still supreme, it's time for a new generation of actors and an entirely new idiom of filmmaking."
Though Shailendra is not willing to reveal the official list of actors and projects that he will be announcing next month as part of his grand scheme to make a comeback as a film producer, reliable sources say Singh has signed Ranveer Singh, Sushant Singh Rajput, Ayushmann Khurrana.
While he has signed these young actors, he is waiting for Salman Khan to grow older! A film with Salman Khan is also on the anvil. Says Shailendra, "I've huge respect for him as a star. And I've a script for him. But it works only after he is a few years older." Though Shailendra won't reveal more about the script, sources say it would be a film which would cast Salman as a desi Hugh Jackman in Wolverine.

A R Murugadoss on why Salman Khan's JAI HO failed?

A R Murugadoss on why Salman Khan's JAI HO failed?
Be it Salman Khan's JAI HO or Akshay Kumar's GABBAR, they all are based on A R Murugadoss' films, which are in great demand for remakes amongst Bollywood filmmakers. However, Murugadoss feels bad when the storyline is tweaked a little in the remake.
"When filmmakers tweak the story here and there, I feel bad. Sometimes I don't want to watch the remake of my films," says Murugadoss, when asked how he feels about the remakes of his films being made here with great delight.
Salman Khan's JAI HO was the most anticipated film of the year and it was expected to shatter all the records at the Box-office. However, the film was a dud.
When we probed the talented filmmaker, who penned Salman Khan's JAI HO, which was based on his own Telugu blockbuster STALIN (2006), the reason behind its failure, he expressed, "I think the only thing which affected the film greatly was witnessing remakes back-to-back in Bollywood. Of late there have been too many remakes which we have been seeing. It becomes boring for the audience also. Sometimes you get tired doing the same thing. Sometimes people will compare the location, costume, actors, music..."
Meanwhile, Murugadoss is gearing up for his upcoming Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha starrer HOLIDAY: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, which is again a remake of his 2012 super hit film THUPPAKKI.
