Will Salman, SRK have a face off in Gujarat?

It's going to the lights, camera and Gujarat again in 2014 for Bollywood.

After Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Goliyon Ka Rasleela-Ram-Leela, Nikhil
 Advani's D-Day, Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che, Puneet Malhotra's
Gori Tere Pyaar Mein and Prabhu Dheva's R Rajkumar which
were shot extensively in the state, this year Bollywood's biggest
superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will land in
Ahmedabad in the summer to shoot their respective films.

Barely weeks after news of Shah Rukh Khan's plans to shoot in
Ahmedabad for a film became public, arch rival and bete noir
Salman Khan followed it up with an announcement that he
was likely to shoot for Sooraj Barjatya's next film tentatively
titled Bade Bhaiyya in Gujarat for a 15 day schedule. Sooraj
and Salman are reuniting professionally after 15 years and
interestingly the last time Salman shot for a film in Gujarat
was in 1998 for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke
 Sanam!

Salman who has made several film promotional trips to
Gujarat in the last two years, spent a lot of time with Narendra
Modi and celebrated Uttarayan with the Gujarat Chief
Minister days before his film Jai Ho hit the screens. Now
in the middle of the year he's likely to arrive with Soora
j Barjatya's team to shoot for his next production co-starring
Sonam Kapoor. In June, Rahul Dholakia's Raees produced
by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, set in the
Ahmedabad pols takes off. An action-packed flick Raees
is about a Gujarat family and addresses the issue of prohibition
with SRK playing the role of a bootlegger!

While the two Khans have hugged each other at a film
awards night and seem to stay away from each other's
orbits, if they are in the state at the same time then Gujarat
can gets set for a Khan-tastic summer.

Salman Khan plans expansion for Being Human

Superstar Salman Khan is set to expand his charitable organisation "Being Human" by opening up more stores in the country as well as go international with stores in Sri Lanka.
"A lot of people are buying 'Being Human' clothing and we are doing pretty well. This year we plan to open about 40 more stores and we would be in about 1,850 selling points. Plus we have tied up with Sri Lanka," the 48-year-old said here Sunday at a VEER campaign by Thums Up.
"We are doing pretty okay and now we want to start cafes, gyms and all that kind of stuff. All the money we make will go straight back into the charitable trust after paying taxes," he added.

Salman added that they are taking things slow as they want new ventures to be permanent.

"We are trying to start as many permanent things, that's the reason we are slow. It shouldn't be that we start something in a hurry and then it shuts down. We got the clothing line and it's doing really well. Then we will start a few more things," Salman said.
"The important thing is that whoever we want to partner with, we want them to make money. Then it's their call whether they want to give it to charity or keep it for themselves," he added.
"Being Human" is Salman's charitable organisation which works for the underprivileged. Its first store opened last year in Mumbai.

It's not every day that you hear of the bureau chief of an internationally renowned financial paper playing a bit role in a Bollywood movie, that too a commercial potboiler. But when you have Salman Khan on board, anything is possible.

Mirror has learnt that Sajid Nadiadwala, who is making his directorial debut with the Salman Khan-Jacqueline Fernandez starrer Kick, was running from pillar to post to find an "extra" to play the role of a British diplomat.

"They wanted a guy who didn't only look the part, but also could convincingly pull off the lines. They couldn't find anyone who fit the part until Chetan Bhagat, who's written the script, came up with an idea," said a source close to the film's production.

It is learnt that the bestselling novelist, an IIM graduate who was an investment banker before becoming a full-time writer, suggested the name of his friend James Crabtree, the Mumbai bureau chief of the London-based newspaper Financial Times. "And James who is a Bollywood fan, instantly agreed to come on board," the source informed.

An elated James, who will be making his acting debut with Kick, said: "Of course I want to be in a Bollywood film but I was hoping there would be no song and dance because I can't do either!"

He admitted that many foreigners come to India to fulfil their Bollywood dreams. "I'm fortunate to be in a film without actually trying," James said, adding that he plays a British diplomat working in the Indian embassy of London. "The ambassador happens to be the father of Salman's love interest, and while we and another Brit diplomat are having a discussion, all hell breaks loose as the former's mother walks in."

The other Brit diplomat is a Swiss named Bernard with a thick German accent. "Clearly, Bollywood is not concerned about cinematic realism," he guffawed. James is disappointed that he didn't get a chance to share screen space with Salman Khan. "He was there on the set, but I didn't get a chance to interact with him. My wife and I have been a fan of his films. We watched his Ek Tha Tiger with subtitles. It was a lot of fun," he said.

Is he eager to pick up more Bollywood assignments? "Well, yes. Friends have been calling up to say that I should quit journalism and become the next Tom Alter," he joked.

Salman Khan wants to have kids, doesn't want the mother

Anyone who knows Salman Khan is aware of the fact that he adores children. So it was not a surprise when he stated at the India Today conclave in New Delhi, on Saturday March 8, that he misses not having kids.
And the Bollywood actor reportedly said, “But with the kid comes the mother and I don’t want the mother.”
“If I had stuck to my first girlfriend, I’d be a grandfather by now,” he had joked. He thinks that he is a bad boyfriend, but a good friend.
According to reports in the media, at the India Today Conclave 2014, the maverick superstar lived up to his known habit of working without a script.  And also unlike other celebrities at the event Salman chose to speak very little on the topic at hand and he opted to address the topic of his session instead in action.
This was his first appearance at the event, and the star was addressing a session titled ‘Hail The Superhero: Why Being Human Matters’. After the usual question-answer session, Salman showed how being human mattered to him.
The actor unbuttoned his shirt and hugged many of his fans to raise money to build 600 toilets across the country.
He was in a witty mood, joking about how nervous he felt making his debut at the Conclave after a career of 30 years. “I was really scared,” he said. “Then I realised I would be sitting on a chair and not on the couch with Koel. That was comforting,” he joked.
According to reports, actor came up with teasing repartees when the subject of his love life came up. “For the first time since I was 15, I am alone, and I am loving it. But something will happen soon. Ladki bahut achchhi hogi (the girl will be very good), guaranteed,” he declared, hinting at a possible marriage or engagement announcement.
The 48-year-old superstar was quoted saying, “I follow humanity. I follow Islam, Christianity and follow the right thing as much as I can. I have been kind of blessed — my father is Pathan, mother is Hindu, second mother is Catholic, and brother-in-law is Punjabi. Wife, I am thinking to bring from outside (the country).”
In the past, many times he had been linked with his co-stars and also been termed as a “possessive” boyfriend.
